A Vision for Sag Harbor Cinema Arts Center
The Sag Harbor Partnership released a new video this week, laying out plans and inspiration for rebuilding the Sag Harbor Cinema, which was nearly destroyed in the Sag Harbor fire over the winter, into the new Sag Harbor Cinema Arts Center—a cultural hub for all things film.
Watch local luminaries describe their vision for all this iconic location could offer to the community and the arts scene, including programming for children and education.
“The Sag Harbor Cinema could become a point of reference for artists and filmmakers to come and talk about their work, to discuss it with other filmmakers, to create culture, not just to view it,” author and film historian Giulia D’Agnolov Vallan explains in the video, which also features painter and Sag Harbor Partnership Vice President April Gornik, producers Steve and Emma Walton Hamilton, actor Harris Yulin and documentary filmmaker Chris Hegedus, to name a few.

The campaign needs to raise $6 million by July 1 to make this exciting project happen, and so far they’ve raised just over $3 million in tax deductible donations.
