Swing! The Musical
When: June 8, 8 p.m. (through June 24)
Where: The Gateway, 215 South Country Road, Bellport
What: This lively musical revue features a variety of dance styles and hits like “It Don’t Mean a Thing,” “Stompin’ at the Savoy,” “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” and more. Swing! stars Dancing with the Stars pros Damian Whitewood and Ekaterina Fedosova and features over 30 dance numbers.
“Moby-Dick” Marathon Reading
When: June 9–11, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
Where: Canio’s Books, 290 Main Street, Sag Harbor
What: In this beloved annual event, people in the community sign up to read a 10-minute section of Herman Melville’s great American novel. The readings take place throughout the weekend, beginning at Canio’s Books and continuing at the Old Whalers’ Church, John Jermain Library and finishing back at Canio’s. An after-party follows the end of the readings.
When: June 9, 8 p.m.
Where: Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center, 76 Main Street, Westhampton Beach
What: Born and raised in Center Moriches, this popular singer-songwriter returns to Long Island. LeBlanc has had three Top 20 albums on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts and has performed with Boz Scaggs, Colbie Caillat, Chris Isaak, Gavin DeGraw and others. LeBlanc is known for hits “Lost Tonight,” “Happier,” a cover of “Fly Me to the Moon” and more.
Fifth Annual Car Show
When: June 10, 10 a.m.
Where: 38 Burns Road, Shelter Island
What: Antique and classic cars, trucks and fire trucks will be on display for the Shelter Island Historical Society’s Fifth Annual Car Show. Food trucks will be on-site. Funds raised by the event will help support the Historical Society’s ongoing educational programs and activities.
Paint and Sip with Salty Canvas
When: June 10, 4 p.m.
Where: Montauk Yacht Club, 32 Star Island Road, Montauk
What: The Salty Canvas traveling paint studio comes to Montauk! Paint a fabulous Montauk lobster (with step-by-step instructions!) and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine. No painting experience is necessary! Advanced registration is required for this event.
