Martha Stewart Cooks Paella to Benefit LGBTQ Youth
Lifestyle queen Martha Stewart is cooking up one of her favorite dishes in support of the Annual HMI School’s Out event benefiting the Hetrick-Martin Institute, at the home of her East Hampton neighbors, Galerie Magazine owners Lisa and James Cohen, next Saturday, June 17.
Hosted by Rosanna Scotto, Tracy Anderson and Margaret Russell, the School’s Out benefit will raise money to help ensure that HMI’s doors stay open, their hot meals continue to be served, and all their “wrap around life-saving vital services” remain available, even when school’s out and resources are scarce during the summer months.
Hetrick-Martin Institute offers a safe and supportive environment in which lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth, ages 13–24, and their families can achieve their full potential through youth services, community and staff expertise.
The festivities begin with a cocktail party from 5–7:30 p.m. Immediately after cocktails, Stewart and her private chef will prepare an authentic Spanish paella dish on the lawn for special dinner guests, who can watch the entire cooking process. It’s going to be a beautiful, and delicious, summer evening in the Hamptons!
Tickets to the dinner include admission to cocktails and a seated dinner following cocktails, hosted by the Cohens and Galerie Magazine. All other ticket categories include cocktails only, unless otherwise specified. See all the details at hmi.org/events/schoolsout.
