Robert Downey Jr. Gives Tour of East Hampton Windmill Home
Nov 06, 2017 - Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan Downey recently gave Architectural Digest an all-access tour of their Edward DeRose Windmill Cottage home in East Hampton. News naming the couple as buyers of the historic property—built around 1885 and featured in Sidney Lumet's 1982 thriller Deathtrapbroke in May, suggesting they paid about $10.5 million for the place.

As seen in the video, the couple appear to be quite taken with the house, which is loaded with interesting artwork, including some pieces made by Downey himself. It also has some unique design features put together by Joe Nahem, such as a purple wraparound fireplace facade by ceramicist Peter Lane and a purple polka dot shower wall, the actor likens to "a box of Good & Plenty" candy.

And for those who are wondering, top of the windmill's turret has been made into Susan's office.
