Shop ‘til You Drop...
With Maria Tennariello Spring is almost here and the shops are starting to buzz with sales, allowing room for brand new inventory. Stores are re-locating from one town to another and new shops are starting to appear. I took my grandson, Anthony, on a shopping trip with me this week, just because he loves to do what his mom and I love to do…shop! Let’s do some late winter, early spring shopping! Mata Hari of Bali, located in the Shopping Cove on Main Street in Sag Harbor, has been there for twenty-five years. Bibi, the owner, is phasing out her inventory and everything must go with a Super Sale that is in progress until the end of March. There is a huge selection of unique jewelry that is being sold at 30 to 40% off. All gifts and artifacts, textiles and more are 50% off. With so much to choose from, a little excursion to the shopping cove will be worth the trip for sure. At Hildreth’s on Main and West Main Streets in Southampton and on Pantigo Road in East Hampton, there is a “lowest price of the year” sale with up to 37% off on Lloyd Flanders wicker and plantation grown teak. And just in time for spring, Hildreth’s new Children’s Department just received their inventory on Clay-Mates (the tiny, real porcelain creatures) for the collector in the family. There are farm and zoo animals, dinosaurs, woods, sky, water and misfit pieces available, made to include your thoughts, love and warmth. These make a great Easter gift for adults and children of all ages. Anthony bought one for his mom! Renaissance on Main Street in Southampton, has it all going on for spring. This shopper-friendly store is a great source for unusual and unique items that include a special line of jewelry for everyone on your gift list, including yourself.
