Farmer Bar, in Cutchogue, serves up authentic and carefully prepared Southern cuisine. Enjoy slow-cooked barbecue doused with a variety of sauces. Experience true barbecue on the North Fork. Menu items include rib tips, a pulled Carolina pork sandwich, fried pork chop on a roll, St. Louis style spare ribs and southern fried chicken. John’s Restaurant, in Hampton Bays, introduces new specials four days a week. On Monday enjoy $9.99 pastas, on Wednesday receive two for one entrées and on Thursday there is a $22 prix fixe. New to the weekly specials is the traditional Italian steak dish “Bistecca Fiorentina,” served every Friday, which is prime rib-eye served over fresh arugula and fresh grape tomatoes. Legends Restaurant, in New Suffolk, now offers an International Style Tapas menu for dinner Sunday through Thursday. Tapas are small flavorful dishes that are popular in Spain’s social and cultural lifestyle. Diners may try tapas to experiment with more exotic dishes or enjoy tapas as a prelude to dinner in addition to specially priced tapas-sized wines in 3 oz. glasses for $4.50. The special menu includes Spanish style tapas in addition to an international array of small dishes, some of which are featured on the regular menu as a larger appetizer or entréée. Jedediah’s, in Jamesport at the Jedediah Hawkins Inn has added new menu items to their current menu. The menu items include seared foie gras with Gewürztraminer-braised cherries, pumpkin brûlé and Saba (a mildly sweetened vinegar) and braised Jurgielewicz Farm duck with fresh rigatoni, olives and capers. For dessert enjoy honey tasting, featuring four different honeys: Hamptons wildflower, local lavender, tangerine and Hamptons clover honey with assorted accompaniments. Oasis, in Sag Harbor, serves dinner Thursday thru Sunday from 5:30 to close. Menu items include pappardelle with ricotta cheese, truffle, poached egg and Parmigiano-Reggianno, braised stripe bass with capers, green olives, chorizo, little neck clams and purple potatoes, grilled prime New York strip, macaroni and cheese and sautéed spinach, and roasted free-range chicken, shallot mashed potato and spinach. On Thursday, March 15 at 6 p.m., Rowdy Hall, in East Hampton, will host its Fifth Annual Beer Dinner. This year’s guest speaker, Phil Markowski, the Brew Master from the Southampton Publick House, will talk about different beer and food pairings. Each of Chef Ed Lightcap’s five courses will be served with a specially selected beer chosen by Brew Master Phil Markowski. Throughout the evening various prizes will be raffled off and each attendee will receive a complimentary goody bag. The dinner will be offered for $70 per person plus tax and gratuity. Southampton Ales & Lagers of The Southampton Publick House, will feature a selection of their brews at a special event, “A Taste of Belgium,” at the Zagat #1 Polo Restaurant at the Garden City Hotel on Wednesday, March 21 at 6 p.m. The event will feature the award winning chef Steven De Bruyn’s selection of six pâtés and terrines paired with six Belgian-style brews from Southampton Ales & Lagers. The featured brews will include: Double White, Saison Deluxe, Cuvee des Fleurs, Biere de Guarde, Grand Cru and Abbot 12. The tasting begins at 6 p.m. and is $48 per person.
