New Stores to Start the Hamptons Summer Shopping Season
Happy Memorial Day! From Westhampton Beach to Sag Harbor, stores are starting to pop up on the East End for what’s sure to be another great shopping season in the Hamptons. Here are some of them so far…start shopping!
WESTHAMPTON
Good Westhampton, 141 Main Street, 631-998-4444, has just opened their doors. A modern general store, owned by 13-year resident Bruce Jackey, features children’s clothing, toys, kitchen items, candy, candles and more. Bruce’s wife Susan – who has experience in retail and design – will be scouring for unique merchandise mostly produced in the US and Europe. The new shop will be celebrating their Grand Opening on Friday, May 25, from 6-9 p.m. They will be serving cocktails and light fare.
SOUTHAMPTON
Biba Southampton, 40 Hill Street, has re-opened for the summer season with a newly renovated boutique filled with the season’s best must-haves, one-of-a-kind, hand-picked clothing and accessories. The new collection of Biba dresses are designed and made exclusively in hot prints, solids and styles. You can purchase right off the rack or design your own custom-made dress in any size, color or print. Summer dresses are available in tissue cashmeres in all colors. Wonder Southampton, 5 Main Street, 631-287-2645, will be open May 25, Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend with a “Grand Opening extravaganza for everyone on Saturday from 3–6 p.m. Have fun while shopping for fabulous summer must-haves. The pop-up shop features C. Wonder signature items such as zipper nylon pouches and Ikat dinnerware as well as an assortment of seasonal products in all lifestyle categories that will surely complement and enhance everyone’s summer holiday. From striped shirts to brightly colored flip flops, wicker picnic baskets and even a pair of roller skates, C. Capri Hotel, 281 County Road 39A, 631-504-6575, Caprisouthampton.com, a chic 30-room boutique hotel has relaunched. Recently taken over by Steven Kamali, the hospitality impresario behind Surf Lodge and Ruschmeyers in Montauk, this tiny all-white property is home to Nobu at Capri and the newly launched Cynthia Rowley, The Shop at Capri, a concept store that will sell Cynthia’s designs as well as carefully curated novelty items. Nestled in Capri’s backyard garden, guests can unwind on sun-soaked lounge chairs and luxurious day beds, before taking a break to visit the L’Oreal “Sun Bar,” the poolside sunscreen station. Guests will also enjoy Baked by Melissa miniature stuffed cupcakes upon check-in along with other complimentary in-room amenities such as TastingRoom.com wine samples, popchips and luxurious bathing products.
BRIDGEHAMPTON
Michelle Farmer Collaborate, 2491 Montauk Highway, 631 604 1850, is now open. The store houses everything fabulous, beautiful and unique…such as resort wear, gift wear, jewelry and accessories. The shop will be celebrating their “Grand Opening” on June 2, from 5 to 8 p.m.
WAINSCOTT
East Hampton Studio, 77 Industrial Road, www.easthamptonstudio.com, is the largest indoor state-of-the-art media powerhouse, holding 3,200 people seating up to 1,200 in a 18,400 sq. ft. building. The facility houses WVVH-TV, a recording studio, a green room and an event stage. The studio is the perfect venue to produce or host film and music videos, television series, private parties, events, concerts, art shows, photo shoots and more. Owner Michael Wudyka recently partnered with top event companies to offer the best all-in-one production services from leaders in the industry. The East Hampton Studio recorded a live album for Jimmy Buffet, who also prepped for a tour at the studio.
EAST HAMPTON
The Beauty Bar, 66 Newton Lane Suite 10- East Hampton, 631-604-5500, www.beautybar.com, will officially open its doors on Thursday, June 6, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., playing host to residents, socialites and celebrities throughout the summer. The Grand Opening festivities will take place after guests are shown through a chandeliered entrance, and Mimosas will be served throughout the event. Christina Savescu, owner of the Beauty Bar, has been in the beauty business for over twenty years. Her husband, Dr. Napoleon Savescu, President of the Romanian Medical Society of NY, has been practicing medicine in the U.S. since 1982 will be doing anti-aging procedures, botox, fillers and laser treatments at the Beauty Bar this summer. This elite spa offers luxurious services ranging from manicures, pedicures, blowouts, makeup application, massages, waxing, eyelash tinting, extensions and even teeth whitening and anti-aging treatments. And…their one-of-a-kind 24kt gold collagen mask application and chocolate body wrap will be available as well.
M Salon, 64 Park Place, 631-324-3036, www.msaloneasthampton.com, is re-opening on Memorial Day weekend. This full service salon has merged with a high-end NYC salon called Warren Tricomi and their slogan is “The Hamptons could not ask for better luxury hair care.” M Salon is open seven days a week, in season.
Sneakerology, 2 Main Street, 631-324-0809, has moved from the Bridgehampton Commons and has relocated to East Hampton. You will find this fully stocked shop on the lower level, under London Jewelers. And as usual they are always available for all your running needs.
SAG HARBOR
A brand new exciting home shop has recently opened. MONC XIII, 40 Madison Street, 631-808-3333, offers an exclusive selection of “all things home,” vintage furniture and stylish home accents from high-end luxury name brands from all over the world. The 2,400 square-foot renovated space curated by owner Natasha Esch and her entrepreneur husband Matt Coffin features new items and 18th to mid-century vintage, along with unique handcrafted top-of-the-line decorative accessories.
