Spielberg’s “Lincoln” Dominant Among Golden Globe Nominees
East Hampton director Steven Spielberg’s biopic Lincoln led the pack with seven Golden Globe nominations from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association on Thursday. Amagansett actor and recent philanthropist Alec Baldwin also received a nod for the best comedic actor in a TV show for his portrayal of Jack Donaghy in NBC’s 30 Rock.
Lincoln earned noms for best dramatic film, best director, best actor in a drama (Daniel Day-Lewis), supporting actress (Sally Field), supporting actor (Tommy Lee Jones), screenplay (written by Tony Kushner) and score (John Williams). The film brought Spielberg his most nominations ever from the HFPA.
Ben Affleck’s Argo and Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained followed close behind with five nominations each.
Baldwin’s costar on 30 Rock, Tina Fey also received a nomination for best actress in a TV comedy. The current season of 30 Rock is the show’s last.
