Southampton Locals Set To Dance For Charity

Coming up on Friday, April 19 East End personalities will learn to dance the Tango and the Cha-Cha all in the name of charity.
I participated in this event in 2011, and let me tell you, it’s a hilariously great time. There is nothing quite as charming as watching a local with two left feet really make an effort to dance.

The event will take place at 230 Elm in Southampton from 7:00 – 11:00 PM. The Gala Evening will include: a Grand Prize drawing for one week’s accommodations in Sedona, AZ, fantastic Ballroom Showcases, general dancing, and lots more for all to enjoy. Tickets are priced at $50 per person and are available at The Arthur Murray Dance Center in Southampton as well as at

The Arthur Murray Dance Center in Southampton has donated over $1,500 in private instruction to each participant for the preparation of the performance. Terri Kiernan (Town of Southampton), Joe Shaw (27 East Press News Group), Alyssa Giruzzi (The Corcoran Group) and Rosane Cassella-Wilson (Southampton Rotary Club) will be among the East End stars who will be stepping out in style to show off their dance moves.

And it’s all in the name of charity, done for “You’re Day Away.”

Here’s me a few years ago dancing away. I won “Best Smile.” Not surprisingly, I didn’t win best dancer.

If you can go, I highly recommend.
