Starting very late Wednesday night, and getting heavy at 3 a.m. Thursday, snowfall is expected in the Hamptons and on the North Fork this week.
After noon Thursday, the snow is forecast to change completely to rain. Then Thursday night, even more rain and snow is expected. There is a chance of light snow Friday too.
The National Weather Service is charactering the early Thursday weather event as a “strong winter storm.” However, the exact track, timing and intensity are still uncertain. The potential exists for 6 inches of snowfall—or more.
