When it comes to going out with friends for a drink, what do you look for in a bar? Is it the atmosphere? The staff? The beer? As Toby Keith sang, “I love this bar/It’s my kind of place/Just walkin’ through the front door/Puts a big smile on my face.”

These bars, restaurants and breweries may just be your kind of place—these spots were voted the Platinum winners in the latest Dan’s Best of the Best readers’ choice competition.

For the best bar hands down on the South Fork, Dan’s Papers readers chose 75 Main (75 Main Street, Southampton, 631-283-7575). Naturally, 75 Main was also voted the place with the best Happy Hour.

If you prefer to watch a game with your drink, check out The Driver’s Seat (62 Jobs Lane, Southampton, 631-283-6606), voted the best sports bar in the Hamptons.

To meet the best bartender in the Hamptons and ask for your favorite complicated cocktail—or just an expertly poured beer—head to Buckley’s Inn Between (139 W Montauk Highway, Hampton Bays, 631-728-7197). There you can find Brandon, the readers’ pick, behind the bar.
