LuAnn de Lesseps Performs 'Girl Code' on 'Watch What Happens'
Sag Harbor resident Countess LuAnn de Lesseps appeared on Watch What Happens Live last night alongside fellow The Real Housewives of New York City star and Hamptons frequenter Sonja Morgan and performed her new single, “Girl Code.”
Along with the host, Hamptonite Andy Cohen, de Lesseps and Morgan gossiped, as usual, and de Lesseps explained “Girl Code” was inspired by true events on RHONY.
During the new season of Real Housewives, de Lesseps infamously muttered to her co-stars on a trip to Turks and Caicos, “Be cool. Don’t be, like, all uncool.” Since her words of wisdom had made such an impression on Cohen and de Lesseps alike, she decided to create a new song based on her “uncool” experiences.
“Four or five months ago, I saw, for the first time, the scene of LuAnn saying, ‘don’t be uncool’ and I contacted her and said the time has come for you to do another song and I love it,” Cohen says about de Lesseps’ new song.
When asked which housewife inspired the song “Girl Code,” de Lesseps responded with, “It’s a surprise. But obviously it is inspired to me from the show and I think every woman can understand what that means. When you break the girl code, you cross the line, you just do something that is, you know, unforgiveable. Unless somebody apologizes.”
Along with her new single, de Lesseps also admitted Morgan will be staying at her house in the Hamptons this summer.
LuAnn de Lesseps’ song “Girl Code” will be available for download on July 1.
