The Hampton Ballet Theatre School Presents 'Peter and the Wolf'
The Hampton Ballet Theatre School presents its production of Peter and the Wolf this August in Bridgehampton and Montauk.
Dance students will be performing on Tuesday, August 4, at 6 p.m. at the Children’s Museum of the East End. There will also be a second performance at the Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation on Thursday, August 6, at 7 p.m.
This production is a collaboration of the Hampton Ballet Theatre School, the Hampton Festival Orchestra and celebrity guest narrator Bonnie Grice of public radio station WPPB 88.3 FM.
Choreographed by the HBTS director Sara Jo Strickland, along with exquisite costumes by Yuka Silvera, the East End community, orchestra, ballet, narration and, of course, students will give life to Peter and the Wolf.
The students of the Hampton Ballet Theatre School, who range from 4 to 18 years old, will dance the ballet.
The score of the play will be performed by the 25-piece Hampton Festival Orchestra, a group of professional musicians who all hail from the East End and will be conducted by the passionate precision of Dr. Andrew Perea.
The ballet is a family favorite for all, as Sergei Prokovfiev’s famous score brings to life every ballet character as sounds from musical instruments.
