Former New York Yankee Bernie Williams took a seaplane to Shelter Island on August 20, 2015, to visit the kids at Camp Adventure, a summer camp for children with cancer and their siblings. Organized by the Kids Need MORE Foundation, the camp takes place at Quinipet Camp and Retreat Center in Shelter Island Heights. MORE stands for Motivational Recovery Environments. Williams, the baseball great and classical guitarist, was greeted by children exclaiming “Let’s go Yankees!” Williams daughters, Beatriz and Bianca, joined him in handing out instruments to Camp Adventure children.
