Peconic Landing End of Summer Celebration Is Sunday
The fourth annual End of Summer Celebration hosted by Peconic Landing is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 30.
The free event attracts over 700 individuals every year.
This summer, guests will be treated to a live performance by the forty-member Atlantic Wind Symphony. The musical group is made up of musicians from all across Long Island.
Set up to take place on the patio at Brecknock Hall (1500 Brecknock Road, Greenport), the performance will begin at 7 p.m. They will deliver a stream of popular songs by George Gershwin, and John Philip Sousa, along with some favorite Broadway hits.
The event will also include a special salute to veterans and current service men and women.
Shot off over Peconic Landing’s Community Pond, Fireworks will commence at 8:15 p.m. The show has a 20 minute duration.
Attendees are encouraged to bring comfortable chairs and blankets to enjoy the celebration in leisure.
The musical performance is sponsored by the Brecknock Hall Foundation which works to maintain the beautification and preservation of the historic mansion on the grounds. The firework show is sponsored by Peconic Landing.
In case of rain, the event will be moved to Sunday, September 6 at 7 p.m.
President and CEO of Peconic Landing Robert J. Syron said, “What started out as a commemorative event has now turned into an annual community celebration.” He continued, “We look forward to celebrating with the North Fork Community.”
