Shop 'til You Drop: Fitness, Beauty and East End Shopping
Great news for those with Apple envy—London Jewelers (2 Main Street) is now stocking the Apple Watch Edition at their boutique in East Hampton making it the first luxury watch retailer in the U.S. to sell the Apple Watch. The boutique has joined a list of boutiques carefully selected by Apple to sell the 18k gold model of the much-touted smartwatch, which retails for between $10,000 and $17,000.
As the heat slowly starts to dissipate we can take a break from the boutique fitness studios that dot the East End and instead frolic in the great outdoors. Newton, a leader in running shoes, has a new style called Kismet (newtonrunning.com, $129) ideal for runners looking for an everyday go-to trainer with functional stability and a great pop of color. It’s as comfortable as it is stylish and fares well should you be surprised with inclement weather (it’s also a favorite of Barry’s Bootcamp CEO Joey Gonzalez).
If cross-training is more your speed Reebok’s CrossFit Nano 5.0 (Famous Footwear, 1440 Old Country Road, Riverhead, $129) is ideal because, while it has minimal cushioning, it offers enough support to boost your performance as you move from front to back and side to side.
To complement your new kicks Bandier is tops when it comes to luxury fitness brands and they’re well stocked in an East End favorite, Koral Activewear (44 Main Street, Southampton). In fact we challenge you to head to a Tracy Anderson class and not spot at least a half dozen women in the brand’s form flattering leggings. Their black lustrous slinky jersey cropped style ($84), is particularly popular.
While we like to keep it local, when it comes to fueling for a busy day Out East sometimes we have to look outside our borders. Enter Kur Bars (The Village Cheese Shop, 11 Main Street, Southampton, $23.86 for a 12-pack). The Scandinavian brand’s mini date, cacao, and nut-based bars are completely raw and certified organic meaning that even if you eat one (or a few) too many, you’ll be fueling your body with good-for-you,
simple ingredients.
Keep your workout motivation up with PRYMA headphones by WOM, now available exclusively at Southampton’s Capri Hotel and Beautique’s new outpost at Capri (281 County Road 39A). Hotel guests have complimentary access to the headphones poolside and in select suites throughout the property. By night, if you’re anything like us, beach bashes and summer travels have left you somewhat sleep-deprived. There’s no need to look the part however, which is where Elizabeth Arden’s new Flawless Future Powered by Ceramide Night Cream (elizabetharden.com, $55) comes in. After just one use, 94% of women reported that their skin felt soft, supple and nourished. To get the most out of your skincare regimen it’s imperative to have a potent night cream. Studies have shown that skin repairs itself most effectively between 10 and 11 p.m. so ideally you should be applying your night creams before this time. When we sleep, our bodies repair and renew themselves and that includes on a cellular level in our skin—just in case any of us needed yet another reason to strive for those elusive eight hours.
