Southampton Arts Center continues its summer movie series this Friday with an outdoor screening of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off presented by Hamptons International Film Festival and sponsored by Dan’s Papers.

The 1986 film, written and directed by John Hughes, stars Amagansett’s Matthew Broderick as the title character, a high school wise guy determined to play hooky and have an exemplary day. Ferris ropes in his best friend and girlfriend and must avoid being caught by his parents, his sister and the school principal.

The screening will take place on the Southampton Arts Center grounds at 25 Jobs Lane in Southampton Village. Bring a blanket or beach chairs and a picnic.

The starting time is approximately 8:30 p.m. and the film is 103 minutes long.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is rated PG-13.
