Best Hamptons and North Fork Bars to Watch Super Bowl 50

SOUTH FORK
75 Main in Southampton (75 Main Street, 631-283-7575, facebook.com/75mainsouthampton) has won a number of Dan’s Best of the Best awards, including Dan’s Gold award for Best Bar, Best Night Spot and also Best Fries. The restaurant also won our Silver award for Best Burger. What’s a more winning Super Bowl combo than a burger and fries? With the bar atmosphere, good food and good service, 75 Main is a great place to spend Super Bowl Sunday.
Southampton Publick House (40 Bowden Square, 631-283-2800, publick.com) in Southampton Village won Dan’s Best of the Best Gold award in the Beer and Brewery categories in 2015. Enjoy any one of the numerous house-made beers—with both seasonal brews and year-round options—in the taproom and order some delicious nibbles, including Buffalo, Thai, Teriyaki, BBQ, Jamaican Jerk or Boneless Buffalo wings; Ale-Battered Onion Rings; Firecracker Shrimp; or Irish Nachos, as well salads, goodies from the grill, pub favorites and more while watching the Super Bowl.
Bobby Van’s in Bridgehampton (2393 Montauk Highway, 631-537-0590, bobbyvans.com) won Dan’s Gold award for Best Steakhouse and Best Steak. Watch the big game on two televisions and munch on selections from BV’s Grill, located at the bar, for some lighter fare created by chef John Stella. What could be better than amazing steak and high-intensity football?
Backbar Grille in Hampton Bays (78 Foster Avenue, 631-728-2208, backbargrille.com) earned Dan’s Best of the Best Platinum award for Best Sports Bar, the Silver award for Best Wings and Bronze for Best Bar. On Super Bowl Sunday, Backbar will show sports all day leading up to the big game at 6:30 p.m. They will be holding “Happy Our” from 12–7 p.m. with half priced drinks and wings at the bar.
230 Elm in Southampton (230 Elm Street, 631-377-3900, 230elm.com) won the Dan’s Best of the Best Bronze award for Best Caterer in 2015. On Super Bowl Sunday, they will be playing sports on all television screens all day leading up to the big game. And, like their sister restaurant, Backbar Grille, 230 Elm is offering “Happy Our” from 1–7 p.m. Sounds like the perfect time to get pumped for some gridiron action!
Townline BBQ in Sagaponack (3593 Montauk Highway, 631-537-2271, townlinebbq.com) won Dan’s Best of the Best Silver award for Best BBQ on the South Fork. With televisions right next to the bar you can have a drink, devour some BBQ and watch the Super Bowl in good company. Be sure to try the ribs, BabyBack or St. Louis, or delight in Barbecue Pulled Pork or Pulled Chicken sandwiches, Brisket, Burgers, Buffalo Fries, TL Hush Puppies and more.
Every “Sloppy Sunday,” Point Bar & Grill in Montauk (697 Montauk Highway, 631-668-1500, pointbarandgrill.com) offers $2 short drafts from 12–4 p.m., along with $3 well drinks starting at 11 p.m. They are also the only sports bar in town, but Point is well equipped with 16 flat screen TVs, complete MLB and NFL package, and drink specials for every game, so their Super Bowl party should be quite an event. Also look for $3 Bloody Marys and $3 Miller Pints.
NORTH FORK
A Touch of Venice in Cutchogue (28350 Main Road, 631-298-5851, touchofvenice.com) is a multi-category Dan’s Best of the Best winner, and a great place to watch the game. The restaurant was awarded Dan’s Platinum award for Best Bar, Best Cocktail and Best Happy Hour. You can sit at the bar or sit at a table and enjoy authentic Italian food and some tasty libations while watching the Super Bowl. They boast an extensive wine list, including both local and Italian bottles, and the restaurant/bar also won Dan’s Gold award for Best Beer.
Tweed’s Restaurant in Riverhead (17 East Main Street, 631-237-8120, tweedsrestaurantriverhead.com) won 2015 Dan’s Best of the Best Platinum awards for the North Fork’s Best French Fries, Best Steak and Best Waiter. They also won Gold awards for Best Burgers and Best Restaurant Atmosphere. The bar in Tweed’s Restaurant has a television to watch the Super Bowl while you enjoy your awesome fries, excellent steak and amazing service.
PATCHOGUE
For those west of the Hamptons and North Fork, That Meetball Place in Patchogue (54 West Main Street, 631-569-5888, thatmeetballplaceli.com) has televisions all around the bar so no matter where you are, you won’t miss a second of the game. Going here means good food and good drinks in a fun atmosphere. Don’t forget to try some of their famous special meatballs, such as seafood balls, veggie balls or chicken balls.
