Melinda Camber Porter was a British-born artist and journalist who eventually settled in Sag Harbor. In 1983 she interviewed poet Octavio Paz for the Partisan Review. Recently, Blake Press, in conjunction with the Melinda Camber Porter Archive of Creative Works, republished the interview in its entirety. Friday, March 31 is Paz’s birthday. The late, Nobel Prize-winning poet was born on this day in 1914, and he died on April 19, 1998 at the age of 84.
