Catwalk for Canines Raises Money for Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation
On June 10, The Gabby Wild Foundation hosted Catwalk for Canines, an eco-friendly fashion show held at the Southampton Social Club. Proceeds benefited the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation (SASF).
The Gabby Wild Foundation is a nonprofit organization with a goal to protect threatened species across the globe through conservation programs, eco-fashion events, such as Catwalk for Canines and other campaigns.
The clothing showcased at the event was all ethically produced and sustainable. The fashion show featured clothes from Daiá, Barbara D’ Altoè’s fashion house Maison Ròde, Marita Wrong, MXN Clothing and Pelush.
Many models walked the runway, including Britney Epley, Jessica Macklin, Leesa Rowland, Kate McEntee, Merritt Piro, Stephanie Mattera, Elena Ayot, Nicole Teitler, Cassandra Cruz, Rachel Brown-McLoughlin and Allyson Spellman.
The shelter’s dog trainers accompanied the dogs down the runway. One furry friend that stole the show was Marbles, a dog who has been in the shelter for three years. Marbles posed for the audience while keeping his tail wagging at all times. All the dogs at the show were available for adoption through SASF.
Guests that came out to support the event included Jean Shafiroff, Jill Rappaport, Deborah Wagner, Victor De Souza, Karen Koeningsberg, Wendy Wegner, Jerry Rosenthal, Kingsley Crawford, Beau Hulse, Mollie Scruggs, Marianne Epley, Jennifer Jablow and Jordan Lippner.
The Southampton Animal Shelter will hold its Eighth Annual Unconditional Love Gala on Saturday July 8. Shafiroff and Sony Schotland will be honored. Tickets can be purchased online at southamptonanimalshelter.com.
