A Street Level View of Putin’s Russia

July 17, 2018, noon1 pm.

Critically acclaimed author Elena Gorokhova will be at the Rogers Memorial Library on Wednesday, July 18, at noon, to discuss life in Putin’s Russia. A former KGB agent, Vladimir Putin has been at the helm of the Russian state for eighteen years. This March he was overwhelmingly “elected” to another six-year term. Ms. Gorokhova, born and raised in Leningrad, has written two memoirs about growing up in Soviet Russia. Her talk will attempt to unravel the strands of the official post-Soviet narrative as it is perceived by Gorokhova’s former compatriots. Register at www.myrml.org or call (631) 283-0774 x 523.
