Let’s Talk Dante

Professor Yowell received her PhD in Medieval Italian Literature from US Berkeley and taught at the University of Washington for 30 years. She welcomes those who’ve never read Dante along with those who have read/studied all or parts of the poem for an engaging conversation about how to read the Comedy, the challenges and the pleasures of reading Dante, the ways in which the poem demands and resists interpretation, and why it continues to speak to us. Conversations will be based on readings of select pieces of the poem.
