Mural Art at the Beach with Peconic Land Trust
Peconic Land Trust and Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program have paired up to offer a shell-focused mural painting workshop with local artist Mym Tuma. In this workshop, you will handle live shells and research shell books, then help paint a 20 foot mural on paper using acrylics and shell models, guided by Mym. Ms. Tuma, mentored by Georgia O’Keeffe, and whose work was exhibited during Columbia College’s “Georgia O’Keeffe Centennial Celebration”, continues to explore our bond to the shoreline and bring awareness to preserving our coastal environment. For more information on Mym’s work, visit mymtuma.com.
