Outdoor Artist’s Exhibition to Benefit Quogue Wildlife Refuge
Quogue artist Steve Alpert will host an outdoor open studio exhibition of his work to benefit the Quogue Wildlife Refuge on Saturday, Aug. 22 (rain date Aug. 23). On view will be oil paintings such as Desire which was inspired by his trip to the Amazon region in Peru, and recalls Claude Monet’s Water Lilies cycle that Paris’s l’Orangerie museum was built specifically to accommodate. Also on display will be more recent paintings such as Duck, Summer Sun, and At Rest that capture the magnificence and uniqueness of the East End’s landscapes. The exhibition will be outdoors and Covid protocols will be observed. 20% of sales will go to the Quogue Wildlife Refuge.
