SoFo: Oil Spill Simulation: Become a Member of the Cleanup Crew: Children Ages 6-8

July 28, 2018, 2 pm6 pm.

Program Presenter: Xylia Serafy, South Fork Natural History Museum Environmental Educator.

Have you ever walked along a marina and wondered what made some of the water a pretty purple, green and blue? Even though those colors are pretty, they mean a very bad thing: there has been an oil spill. There are many ways for an oil spill to happen, but they all have a very bad outcome for our marine animals – altering the structure of bird feathers and mammal fur. Join Xylia to learn about the effects of oil spills, different methods to clean them up, and see if you have what it takes to clean up your very own oil spill!

Please call 631-537-9735 for reservations and info about meeting place.
