August 14, 10:30 am11 pm.
There is a $15 fee for Adults and $10 fee for children for this program. Members are free

Description:

Join Sandra on a walk in Vineyard Field, the field behind SOFO, to collect and identify some of the many insects that make this field their home. We’ll learn how to use bug collecting nets─of course, we’ll release the insects at the end of the program─in order to get a close-up look at the insects we find. There’s a good chance we’ll find a monarch butterfly caterpillar feasting on a milkweed plant. We’ll learn how the caterpillar turns into a butterfly and talk about why the Monarch butterfly travels south in the fall.

Location:

South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFo) South Fork Natural History Museum, 377 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton, NY United States
