Watch Unorthodox, Netflix’s new hit series and then join us virtually each Tuesday at 5:00PM from January 12 through February 2, to discuss it with your friends at the Jewish Center of the Hamptons.
Each session will focus on one episode of the four-part series, beginning with Episode #1 on January 12, at 5:00PM.
The first Netflix series to be primarily in Yiddish, it is inspired by Deborah Feldman’s 2012 autobiography, Unorthodox: The Scandalous Rejection of My Hasidic Roots.
Unorthodox follows the story of Esty, a 19 year old Hasidic Jewish woman living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. She flees to Berlin from an arranged marriage she finds suffocating and unsustaining and is taken in by a group of musicians — until her past life comes calling.
This event will be held on Zoom. Please visit jcoh.org/unorthodox to register.
