2019 Art Box Auction Benefiting East End Hospice
Great Art for a Great Cause — It was 19 years ago that supporters of East End Hospice first asked well-known area artists to take a small, unadorned box and create a unique work of art that could be put up for auction to benefit Hospice.
That Box Art tradition, an annual highlight of the late summer season, continues on Saturday, August 24, at St. St. Luke’s Church Hoie Hall, with 90 artists participating. Leading up to the benefit the boxes can be previewed at Hoie Hall on Wednesday, August 21st and Thursday, August 22nd from 10am to 4pm. On Wednesday, August 21st, from 5-7pm, the public is invited to a “Meet the Artist” preview reception at Hoie Hall. Completed boxes can also be viewed on the hospice website, eeh.org.
At the benefit on August 24th, a Silent Auction will begin at 4:30pm and the live auction will begin at 5:45pm, with Lucas Hunt, Auctioneer. Wine and hors d’oeuvres are included in the $75 benefit ticket price. For tickets and more information, call Theresa Murphy at 631-288-8400.
