2019 Viewpoints Lecture Series with Isabella Rossellini

Viewpoints is The Watermill Center’s year-round conversation series, granting artists and art enthusiasts the opportunity to gather and discuss creative themes vital to the contemporary moment. Hosted at both its East End campus and in NYC, Viewpoints engages with the community through intriguing dialogue, artist talks, and lectures that span across disciplines.Isabella Rossellini grew up in Paris and Rome and came to live in the USA at age 19. She is the daughter of actress Ingrid Bergman and film director Roberto Rossellini. She made her cinematic debut as an actress in 1979 in the Taviani brothers’ film Il Prato (The Meadow) and has appeared in numerous other films, including the American features Blue Velvet, White Nights, Rodger Dodger, Cousins, Death Becomes Her, Fearless, Big Night, and Joy. She worked with wide-ranging directors including Robert Zemeckis, David O. Russell, David Lynch, Taylor Hackford, Marjane Satrapi, Guy Maddin and Robert Wilson in the theater with “The Days Before “ in 2001.

She is also a filmmaker with a keen interest in animals and wildlife conservation. Her award-winning series of shorts distributed in the USA by the Sundance channel, Green Porno, Seduce Me, and Mammas offer comical and scientifically insightful studies of animal behavior. Her theatrical monologues Green Porno and Link Link Circus toured in several cities in Europe, America and Australia.

She wrote several books , most recently My Chickens and I which was released in the USA by Abrams Books.
