‘Broken Home’ Exhibition
VSOP Projects is pleased to present Broken Home, a group exhibition curated by Michael Yarinsky (Cooler Gallery + Office of Tangible Space). The liminal space between art and design is fertile ground. Designers can be unafraid to work beyond the conceptual limits of craft and artists can toy with functionality.
Broken Home strives to challenge our ideas about what makes a house a home. Yarinsky has tasked his intriguing community of accomplished young artists and designers with the creation of objects and experiences that challenge us to consider (a) dwelling in/as a critical space. The familiar elements of home are reimagined and reconfigured within the confines of VSOP Projects’ domestic architecture. This reshuffling of form and function invites us to prod for deeper meaning in the objects, relationships, and spaces which we occupy, and which occupy us.
Please join us at VSOP Projects for an Opening Reception with the curator, artists, and designers on Saturday, February 29, from 6-8pm. The exhibition will remain on view through Sunday, April 5. A guided walk-through of the exhibition with the curator will take place on Saturday, March 14, at 1pm.
