Film & Talk: BOYS DO CRY New shorts guest curated by Jack Kendrick

BOYS DO CRY, guest curated by filmmaker Jack Kendrick, is a showcase of works by young filmmakers that engage with emotionally charged moments in the lives of adolescent males.

We live in a culture in which division and sectarian impulses have come to define the dialogue on our most complex issues. 2018 has inspired enormous consciousness regarding gender politics and what it means to be a woman but examining these issues must not fail to consider the question: What role will boys play in shaping the social fabric of the 21st century?

That question leads us to consider the emotions of young men, and in particular how these feelings affect their growth. From confronting a parent who is gone or there too often, to dealing with peer pressure, falling in love and even confronting death, the coming of age stories in our series examine the feelings and behavior of boys, young men, in times of emotional crisis.
