Greenport Harbor Brewing Company Presents: “Uncharted: Explorations and Discoveries” by artist Kara Hoblin
On Friday, October 11, 2019 Greenport Harbor Brewing Company will host the opening reception for their latest exhibition, “Uncharted: Explorations and Discoveries by Kara Hoblin.”
A Greenport local, Kara Hoblin is known for her intricate chalk compositions that can be found everywhere and anywhere on the East End and New York City and is co-founder of the North Fork Art Collective, solidifying herself as one of the key artistic personalities of the North Fork. In her new exhibition, Hoblin displays her talents in pen and ink drawings and watercolors, diving into the whimsical realms of the deep sea, deep space, and the unconscious. Working with old nautical charts, Hoblin maps out the places she’s visited and the array of memories and fantasies they can conjure. She describes herself as a scientist of sorts, documenting her life while also collecting data on the uncharted regions of the unconscious and the fantastical.
The opening reception for “UNCHARTED” will be held on Friday, October 11th from 6-9p.m. at the Greenport Harbor Brewing Company’s original location at 234 Carpenter Street in Greenport. The exhibit will be on view through December.
