Hamptons Doc Fest co-presentation: “All Me: The Life and Times of Winfred Rembert”

Featured speaker: Vivian Ducat, Filmmaker

Rembert, who narrates this moving documentary, is a snaggletoothed character whose youth in Jim Crow era Georgia inspires the art he makes — vivid scenes carved and dyed on leather sheets. Rembert’s good nature belies the horrors he’s suffered: after police attacked a civil rights protest in which he was participating, he stole a car to escape, nearly got lynched, and drew a seven-year prison sentence that included time on a chain gang.
