Watermill Alum Carlos Soto is a director, designer and performer based in New York City. He has presented performances at Columbia University, The Guggenheim Museum, Kampnagel Hamburg, Pace Gallery, Palais de Tokyo, Performa 09; and has been Artist-in-Residence at Willem de Kooning Studio, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, New York Live Arts and The Watermill Center, among others. Soto has collaborated with recording and performance artist Solange as associate director and designer on multiple projects, most recently on the film and festival tour accompanying her album When I Get Home, and the performance Witness! at the Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg. Since 2018 he has collaborated with director Zack Winokur and AMOC (American Modern Opera Company) on various projects, most recently The Black Clown at Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival. In 2020 they will collaborate on Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George at Los Angeles Philharmonic and Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde at Santa Fe Opera. He has worked with American artist and director Robert Wilson since 1997 as a performer, designer, and assistant on numerous productions in the U.S. and Europe. They will reunite for Wilson’s staging of Händel’s Messiah at the Mozartwoche, Salzburg in January 2020.
Lynsey Peisinger is a performer, choreographer and director. In 2018, she co-directed with Elizabeth Diller the Mile Long Opera, a citywide public engagement project, which brought together 1,000 singers for performances on The High Line in New York. She has presented performance works at C24 Gallery in New York, Fondation Beyeler in Basel, SESC Pompeia in Sao Paulo, Performa Paço at Paço das Artes in Sao Paulo, Robert Wilson’s 2nd Annual Berlin Benefit, Hyeres Fashion and Photography Festival, and Kunstfest Weimar. Peisinger has collaborated with Marina Abramovic on new performances The Cleaner (2017) in Stockholm and 512 Hours (2014) in London. They also collaborated on a music project, A Different Way of Hearing (2019), at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt. Since 2011, she oversees performances of Abramovic’s historical works and directs the public participatory work The Abramovic Method. She is assistant director on Robert Wilson’s Zinnias: The Life of Clementine Hunter and The Old Woman.
