Maureen’s Haven Winter Benefit

Maureen’s Haven is pleased to announce that we will be having our first winter benefit and celebration on the South Fork on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Seasons of Southampton, 15 Prospect Street, Southampton from 6–9 p.m.

Please join us for a very special fun-filled evening with light bites, complimentary glass of wine, silent auction, dancing and featuring music by DJ Michael and East End Entertainment as we help raise awareness of the homeless problem on the east end and raise funds so we can continue to provide vital services for those in need especially during the harsh winter months. The cost per ticket is $50. They can be purchased at the MORE INFO link.

Maureen’s Haven Homeless Outreach program, the only homeless advocacy group on the East End, protects the east end homeless by providing shelter, supportive service and compassionate care for individuals in need. We are blessed with over 1,500 dedicated and selfless volunteers that respond to the unique needs of every person who presents themselves before us. Maureen’s Haven affirms the dignity and worth of every person and believes that everyone deserves to be loved, embraced and cared for.

Maureen’s Haven provides meals and shelter for less fortunate people each season. We are a program that doesn’t turn people away and is known throughout the East End community for helping those who need help. We are present in over 20 Houses of Worship and are a beacon in the various communities.

Our Maureen’s Haven day center, Kay Kidde Achievement Center, located on 28 Lincoln Street, Riverhead, offers respite and a sense of community for our guests. Guests can come in for a hot meal, get fresh clothing, and receive assistance through case management and counseling. The Day Center is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. from April through October. During the winter months, the Day Center is open on weekends from 3–7 p.m. and has extended hours during the week. We help clients achieve self-sufficiency by offering GED preparation, computer skills, financial management, daily living skills, job listings, training opportunities, resume preparation, and “Dress for Success”. We have Licensed Social Workers and a Mental Health Counselor on staff. We work with our clients on maintaining their housing or obtaining temporary housing, with the ultimate goal of permanent housing.
