Michael Weiskopf & Friends in Concert

Michael Weiskopf and Randolph Hudson, co-founders of the Bob Dylan tribute band, The Complete Unknowns, together with vocalist Lauren Matzen, perform a selection of Dylan’s poignant and memorable weather-related songs, plus some of Michael’s original songs. Weiskopf is the lead singer of  “The Complete Unknowns,” a band that celebrates the catalog of Bob Dylan. Virtuoso guitarist Randolph Hudson III, a co-founder of the band, has been performing and recording with Michael for the past ten years. Vocalist Lauren Matzen has been performing with the band and appears on Michael’s latest CD. 

This concert is part of the Montauk Library’s Stormy Weather series. The repertoire of Bob Dylan’s songs includes numerous weather-related songs. In fact, 30 percent of Dylan’s songs are about climate and A Hard Rain’s A Gonna Fall was the Official Anthem of the U.N. talks on Climate. (2009).Through concerts, screenings, discussions & displays of archival photographs, the Montauk Library’s Stormy Weather Series commemorates the devastating hurricane of 1938 as well as other storms that have affected Montauk & the East End.

BIO: Michael Weiskopf is a performing songwriter who recently released his fourth album of original material “Lost in AmeriKa – 9 ½ Stories.” He will be playing songs from his new album along with selections from his prior CDs (Insomnia, Suffering Fools, and Love & Entropy) as well as covering songs by Dylan and other writers that fit the ‘stormy weather’ theme. Michael’s memoir, Sharp Turns, was published in 2016.
