MUSICAL INSTRUMENT PETTING ZOO
In this 60-minute interactive workshop, children ages 3-5 get the chance to listen and play real instruments from the orchestra! In the first half professional musicians from Stony Brook University Department of Music demonstrate various instruments and discuss how each sound is made and how they are different from each other. In the second part, children will have a chance to touch and play the instruments themselves! Bow a violin, slide a trombone, blow through a recorder, and even wave your arms to make sounds on a Theremin! Children are free to ask questions and everyone leaves with a musical gift.
