Purist Connect 4 Ideas Festival
For the second year in a row, Purist Magazine, the brainchild of veteran editor Cristina Cuomo, will host an inspiring, magical 2-Day event: Connect 4 Purist Magazine’s Ideas Festival to be held on Thursday, August 16th and Friday, August 17th at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor.
On August 16, Wellness advocate Donna D’Cruz will lead a meditative moment then join Integrative Medicine Coach and Author Dr. Frank Lipman and Designer/Activist Donna Karan in a lively conversation about trending topics. Next, Author and David Lynch Foundation head Bob Roth will hold a conversation with Mary Louise Parker on Transcendental Meditation. Afterwards, there will be a screening of Sundance Audience-Award winning film, This is Home and a Q&A with director Alexandra Shiva.
On August 17, The world’s leading polar explorer Doug Stoup will discuss climate change, followed by Jason Flom, music industry icon and founding member of the Innocence Project discussing transformation. From 2–4 p.m., The Nantucket Project brings their signature programming with live talks, original short films, music, art and more. The program will close with a talk by Governor Andrew Cuomo.
Connect 4 is happy to announce that The Nantucket Project will be a special guest on Friday. Sometimes called “the next TED,” the group’s signature programming brings fresh ideas to curious audiences through a unique blend of live talks, award-winning original films and unforgettable experiences – all while exploring what matters most in our noisy, messy world. What makes them different is the spirit in which they do things. Past participants have included Tony Blair, Steve Wozniak, Julie Taymor, Neil Young, Jennifer Garner, Chelsea Manning and Deepak Chopra. Who will they be bringing to Connect 4? They never release the names. Trust us, it’s worth the wait.
