Pyrrhus Concer: An Adventurous Life

Connor Flanagan, the Southampton History Museum’s Director of Education, will offer a talk about Pyrrhus Concer, born the son of one of Nathaniel Cooper’s slaves, who spent the first few years of his life living on the grounds of what is now the Rogers Memorial Library. Eventually, Pyrrhus gained his freedom, became a successful whaler and saw more of the world than many ever would. Join us for the story of one of Southampton’s greatest residents.
