Riptide III

Newly appointed Southampton Village Trustee Mark Parash will kick-off i-hamptons’ third annual ‘Shark-Tank’ style venture competition, RipTide: $ink or $wim. Prizes will include up to $50,000 in grant awards, in-kinds services and mentorship opportunities for the winning start-ups. Four lucky finalists out of the local entrepreneurs who submit their new business ideas, will be selected to pitch their ideas LIVE to a panel of distinguished judges and an audience estimated at around 150 people.  Each start-up will be asked to give a five-minute presentation, followed by a 10-minute Q&A.  Previous judges have included Alec Sokolow, Toy Story screenwriter,  Barbara Roberts, Entrepreneur in Residence, Columbia Business School, David Bohnett, a philanthropist, technology entrepreneur and Kathleen King, author & founder of Tate’s Bake Shop.

Tickets allow guests to vote for their favorite idea and help award up to $50,000 of prizes.  Guests are also invited to a pre-event innovation showcase, where local entrepreneurs will be able to showcase their products and services and get feedback from you on their innovations.  If you want to submit to be part of Riptide, please follow this link and make your submission before September 21st.
