Short Days Art Show

SHORT DAYS ART SHOW

Three local artists whose work draws connections between nature and the abstract will be showing at Ashawagh Hall on December 8 and 9 at the 3rd annual SHORT DAYS ART SHOW. Their work includes oils, watercolors, fish prints, mixed media and photography. In addition to what promises to be a stunning collection of larger wall pieces, they will offer an “art-boutique” with the idea that fine art can make fine gifts.

Phyllis Chillingworth brings the bold colors of Mexico to the walls of Ashawagh Hall. Her new oil paintings are inspired by travels to the exotic land of Zihuatanejo. In contrast, her watercolors capture the colors and moments in the East End that excite her senses. Phyllis is a graduate of The Institute of Design, IIT, Chicago and The Yale School of Art. She lives in Montauk and New York City. Phyllis’ work can be seen at phyllischillingworth.com

Annie Sessler will be showing Gyotaku infused drawings and paintings in addition to her traditional fish impressions on cloth and paper. Annie will be incorporating other materials and mediums into her works branching out and elaborating on her familiar printmaking style. Her work has been featured in the NYTimes and on the CBS Sunday morning show. Annie’s work can be seen at eastendfishprints.com

John Todaro’s photographs have been widely displayed and collected. At Ashawagh, he will be featuring a new collection of handprinted black and white landscapes along with a recent group of semi-abstractions. He will also be highlighting a fascinating series of framed miniatures. John’s most recent work reflects an expanding interest in 19th century photography. Recent matted color prints will also be available in a variety of sizes. His work can be seen at johntodaro.com
