SOFO: Explore the Fascinating Lives of Fungi on the East End: Adults/Ages 12+
Please join us on Saturday October 19th at 3:00pm at the South Fork Natural History Museum to learn more about the unique characteristics of Fungi. We are happy to welcome Dr. Margery Daughtrey, plant pathologist at Cornell’s Long Island Horticultural Research and Extension Center for a talk and foray in a nearby wooded habitat. Margery will enlighten us about the benefits of pathogens, how they act on plant material, and their benefits to a healthy forest ecosystem. This special presentation will foster a better understanding of the relationship between fungi and the forest. We send a special thank you to the Jane and Alfred Ross Foundation for sponsoring this special event.
