Summer Songs…The Great American Songbook and Other Stories
This summer, The Bridgehampton Museum is featuring nationally-recognized folksinger Caroline Doctorow in the music series Summer Songs: The Great American Songbook… and Other Stories.
The next of four shows is Saturday, July 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the museum’s rustic and appealing barn Archive Building, 2539A Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton. Ms. Doctorow and her acoustic band The Ballad Makers will present four concerts in all, performing folk standards, Americana favorites, classic fiddle tunes and her own songs. Up-and-coming local songwriters will open each show and the concerts will include special musical guests. Doctorow’s band members — Gary Oleyar, fiddle and guitar; Chris Tedesco, fiddle; Karl Allweier, upright bass — are all nationally-touring musicians. The shows will highlight rarely-heard, twin “dueling” fiddles in a high-energy showdown in what promises to be a memorable musical evening that everyone will enjoy, whatever their age or musical preference.
The series dates are all Saturday evenings: May 12, June 30, July 28 and August 25, 2018.
The Bridgehampton Museum Archive building is located at 2539A Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton.
Tickets are $20 (door only). For further information, please call the museum at 631-537-1088.
