Virtual Screening: BORN INTO THE GIG + Q&A

The subjects of Kate Davis and David Heilbroner’s new film were all born into music royalty. But when the offspring of James Taylor and Carly Simon, Bill Withers, Stephen Stills and Bob Marley set out to become singer-songwriters themselves, they walk a fine line between trying to live up to the success of their legendary parents and forging their own path. With candor, humor and a lot of fantastic music, BORN INTO THE GIG demonstrates the challenges of pursuing the family business on a whole different scale.

Running Time: 81 minutes

Our guest speakers for the Q&A, via an “especially-made-for-PJDS” recorded Zoom will be directors Kate Davis and David Heilbroner, producer Tamara Weiss, Chris Stills, son of Stephen Stills and Sally Taylor, daughter of James Taylor and Carly Simon. The moderator for the Q&A will be Tom Needham, host of Tom Needham’s The Sounds of Film on Stony Brook University’s WUSB radio.

Tickets, $7 (to defray the cost of screening), at: portjeffdocumentaryseries.com/ticketsvenues. The film will be available to watch at 7pm (EDT).
