2016 Bay Street Summer Gala Celebrates 25th Anniversary
Sag Harbor residents Alan and Arlene Alda will serve as the honorary chairs for this years’ Bay Street Theater Summer Gala.
The gala this year will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the theater and will include various scenes from productions put on since then. The night will also feature a silent auction, a “fantasy auction,” dinner and dancing. Actor and Bay Street Artistic Associate Richard Kind (A Serious Man, Spin City) will serve as a guest auctioneer. More surprise guests will be announced in the near future.
The gala will be held at the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor, and in the spirit of its silver anniversary, it will be focused on honoring the founders and trustees that brought the theater to life.
Alda will honor founders Emma Walton Hamilton and Stephen Hamilton; founding board member and patrons Adrianne and Jerry Cohen; and founding supporter and trustee emeritus Patrick Malloy III for their years of dedication to the theater and the Hamptons art community.
Founded in 1991, Bay Street Theater has become a staple of the Hamptons, providing an artistic outlet for residents and visitors alike. Since its founding, the venue has put on scores of plays and musicals that demonstrate a diverse appreciation for the theater, producing shows by renowned playwrights such as Edward Albee, Henrik Ibsen, Tom Stoppard and David Mamet.
The Bay Street Summer Gala will be held on Saturday, July 9. Tickets range between $425 and $25,000, and can be purchased online at baystreet.org.
