Townline Trivia Dreams Denied

Sadly, Team Perestroika ­ our Russian Ringer inspired the name ­ did not deliver at Townline’s Trivia last night. We came in dead
last, but had the most fun. That counts for something, right?

We lost major points in the final round, which was a “name-that-tune for television theme songs. (Four members of the team
hadn’t watched television in years, and my knowledge of the subject is mostly relegated to “Friends” and “Seinfeld“) And the “Movie Math”, a combination of fill in the blank numbers for movie titles and then performing mathematical operations with our answers, was particularly difficult for the entire room.

BUT, did you know that Ralph gave Lisa a Valentine’s Day card that said “I Choo Choo Choose You!” on an episode of the “Simpsons?” Or
that The Pittsburgh Steelers have won the most Super Bowls? And Venus is Cupid‘s mom? We had our fair share of correct answers.

Anyway, congratulations to the game-winning Saucy Jacks. But watch out, because we’ll be back. Hey, the SUPER BOWL WINNING Giants were 7-7 at one point and there was talk of firing Tom Coughlin, now a virtual shoe-in for the Hall of Fame. Ya Gotta Believe!
