Sometimes you hear about an idea that is so beautiful, so perfect, so genius, so incredibly brilliant, that you just sit back in your chair and say, “Wow, I’m impressed.”
No, I’m not talking about the new Dorito Taco from Taco Bell. I’m talking about the announcement that Tate’s is slapping a scoop of ice-cream in between two of their cookies and is creating a new ice-cream sandwich called the “Tate-Witch.”
Yes, I know, I felt the same way you are feeling right now when I heard about it. The first thing that came to my mind was Chuck Norris, Victoria’s Secret models, glory and bacon.
Whoever came up with the idea of the Tate-Wich deserves some kind of International award and a yearly parade. I’m sorry, they just do.
Bayburger in Sag Harbor, which is very quietly becoming the go to place for fresh homemade ice-cream, is teaming up with Tate’s to make the ice-cream sandwich which will be sold out of Bay Burger and other locations in the Hamptons beginning this summer. Take a deep breath, absorb this news, no this is not a joke, yes this is really happening.
I think every person in the Hamptons has had, at least at some point, an obsession with Tate’s Chocolate Cookies. I personally went through a phase where I used to buy a bag of them along with a carton of whole milk, then pour the milk into a glass, add in the cookies and then mash them into the milk and eat the Tate’s Cookie soup with a spoon. It’s disgustingly glorious. Try it.
I cant’ wait for the Tate-Witch. I just can’t wait.
