Billy Joel Adds Second Madison Square Garden Concert Date
Presale began Wednesday morning for Billy Joel‘s just announced January 27 concert at Madison Square Garden, and when fans went online to try to get the coveted tickets, they were in for a surprise—Joel added another date at Madison Square Garden, February 3.
The presale is just for Citi cardholders, and general sales begin Saturday at 10 a.m.
The Sag Harbor resident recently sold out a benefit concert at The Paramount and an upcoming concert at Barclays Center with Ben Folds Five, and these two concert dates will be no different. This will be Joel’s first time back at the Garden since 2006, when he set the record for the longest run of consecutive sold-out shows. He performed for 12 nights.
Joel has won six Grammys, including the Grammy Legend Award, and has been inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In December, Joel will be a Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts honoree. On December 8 at the Kennedy Center Opera House in Washington, D.C., Joel and the other honorees will sit with President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for performances and tributes by their peers. It will be broadcast on CBS December 29 at 9 p.m.
