Free 'Taste North Fork' Shuttle to Run All Weekend

This Veteran’s Day weekend, tourists and locals alike can experience a taste of the North Fork with the assistance of a complimentary shuttle service
On Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Taste North Fork Shuttle will run every 45 minutes. There will also be pickup from the Mattituck train station, Cross Sound Ferry Terminal in Orient and Tanger Outlet 2-Office Max parking lot in Riverhead.
Among the many planned events and activities is Greenport’s “Greenporch” Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m., a scavenger hunt tour that explored the maritime village. Collect mystery clues at inns, shops, B&Bs and restaurants and be entered into a prize drawing. Email bbnofo@gmail.com for a treasure map.
Mattituck’s Love Lane will have its own Taste Love Lane Saturday and Sunday, with a “meet the farmers” market from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the corner of Love Lane and the Main Road. BookHampton presents the Long Island Banjo Society from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Southold will have a sidewalk sale Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 11 a.m. till 5 p.m. and the Southold Historical Society will host a “treasure exchange” on Saturday and Sunday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Prince Building, 54325 Main Road.
Riverhead will also have sidewalk sales and specials promotions, plus deals at Long Island Aquarium & Exhibition Center.
Vineyards, inns and bed and breakfasts will have special offers over the weekend. The weekend also falls during Long Island Restaurant Week with prix fixe dinner specials.
