5 Last-Minute Hamptons-Inspired Halloween Costumes
Going to a Hamptons Halloween party and need some inspiration? Here are five Hamptons-themed costumes to impress your friends—and maybe even win a contest.
1. Neutered Deer
You may already have a reindeer costume—or, at least, a pair of antlers—kicking around from Christmas. With slight modifications, and the addition of some bandages, you can be a neutered Hamptons deer for Halloween. You’ve probably heard all about this already—East Hampton Village plans to surgically sterilize deer in order to reduce the population, in lieu of another controversial federal deer cull. (Or, take a page out of Marine Scout Sniper Manny Fabrele’s book and dress as a weaponized deer.)
2. Montauk Hipster Monster
If you want dress as a hipster for Halloween in Montauk, everyone will just think you’re a real hipster invading the East End. You could go as the infamous Montauk Monster—or you could fuse both and be the Montauk Hipster Monster.
3. Plum Island Toxic Avenger
Plum Island, off Orient, is home to the Plum Island Animal Disease Center, which is the subject of much speculation. Could is be the source of the Montauk Monster? Are scientists maliciously experimenting with diseases that could lead to biological warfare? The Toxic Avenger steps up to fight those who spread mutation-causing waste.
4. Helicopter and Protestor
It’s the perfect couples or buddies costume for the Hamptons! The scourge of low flying helicopters has outraged Hamptons residents who want some peace and quiet.
5. A Kardashian
Kourtney Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian were in the Hamptons this summer for the filming of their reality TV spinoff series Kourtney and Khloé Take the Hamptons. Kim Kardashian also showed up for a cameo. Go as any of the sisters, or perhaps grab a date and dress as Kourtney and beau Scott Disick.
